How it all got started...

During my first year of high school, a friend of mine invited me to participate in his "fantasy football" league. I had no idea what it was, or what to expect. He told me that I would be great because I knew so much about sports. As it turned out, he was right. I learned that your team was comprised of invididual players from different teams, which you "drafted" to build your own squad. Points were awarded to players based on how well they did in their particular game that week. During the draft, most of the other guys were reading through magazines, furiously taking notes, studying last year's statistics and watching analysts on ESPN to improve their decision-making. My draft kit consisted of a pack of Cherry Coke and a list of players on a paper towel stained with barbeque sauce. That's all it took to win my first fantasy football championship.

After becoming a fantasy league "veteran", I was more of a sports junkie. I had always followed professional sports, but my passion was for the college game - basketball, in particular. After graduating from the University of Kansas, I decided to create my own league: Fantasy College Hoops. And the rest, is history in the making...
