Fantasy College Football: Update - Week 10
[Saturday] Texas might have slept through the first half against Central Florida, but a pair of Longhorns gave the home crowd something to cheer about before the final whistle blew. Colt McCoy (470yds, 2td, 1int, 8car, 13yds) and Jordan Shipley (11rec, 273yds, 1td) posted equally impressive performances. Shipley broke the school-record for receiving yards, and was summoned for a curtain call after the 35-3 win. The Sunflower Showdown in the Little Apple was a display of Jayhawk ineptitude. The defense let Kansas State's only offensive weapon, Daniel Thomas (24car, 185yds, 1td) run wild. Like a broken record, Todd Reesing (241yds, 1td, 1int, 8car, 25yds) committed three first-half turnovers (1 int, 2 fumbles) and never finish a drive. This makes four consecutive weeks (all losses) that the Jayhawks have truly beaten themselves with mistakes. But more on that later... I predicted an offensive shootout in Boulder, and I couldn't have been more right. The Buffs took down the Aggies 35-34 with a touchdown pass in the final minutes. With highly touted Darrell Scott announcing his plans to transfer, Rodney Stewart (20car, 118yds, 2td, 1rec, 3yds) took advantage of his time in the spotlight. After Robert Griffin was lost for the season, it didn't look like Baylor would win again. Well color me surprised, as the Bears went into Columbia and outscored Missouri 40-32. In his first start since Week 7, Kendall Wright (10rec, 149yds, 2td, 1car, 2yds) set career-highs in receptions and yards. Missouri's passing game answered every challenge, with Blaine Gabbert (468yds, 2td) and Danario Alexander (13rec, 214yds, 1td) leading the way. Neither team could establish any type of running game, as they combined for 48 yards: Baylor 38, Missouri 10.
Oklahoma St need to rebound from last week's shellacking at the hands of the Texas Longhorns: mission accomplished. The Cowboys blasted Iowa St 34-8 with a devastating running game (331 yards). Keith Toston (25car, 206yds, 3td, 1rec, 2yds) proved once again he's more than just a serviceable replacement in Kendall Hunter's absence. Toston has scored 20+ FCFP in 6 of his last 7 starts, garnering player of the week honors for Week 10. He has played his way into the Top 10 in league scoring, ranking third among running backs. The defensive slugfest lived up to the hype in Lincoln, as Nebraska battered and bruised Oklahoma with a 10-3 victory. Newly acquired Phillip Dillard (8tackles, 1sack, 1int) led a ballhawking Husker defense that picked off Landry Jones five times. The Sooners failed to score a touchdown in more than a decade, and this was the lowest scoring output in the Bob Stoops era. Continue reading for the current scoreboard:
