Fantasy College Hoops: Saturday - Week 16
Saturday's games had 11 players in action, by far the busiest day of the finals so far. Surprisingly, only Wesley Johnson (14pts, 10reb, 4ast, 2stl) was able to break 30 fantasy points yesterday. Despite shooting a frigid 2-for-11 from the floor, #4 Syracuse still looked like the best team in the country. They took #8 Villanova behind the Carrier Dome's woodshed, in a game that was even worse than the 95-77 final score.
The league's #1 seed Crimson & Bluebloods is in the books for Week 16. So how did everyone else fare? Well, Gordon Bombay continues to get great production out of super sophomore Trey Thompkins (20pts, 7reb, 5ast) in a 78-76 win over their football rival, the Florida Gators. Thompkins has been the catalyst for Georgia's marked improvement, averaging 21.6 points and 10.2 rebounds over his last 5 games.
Alex Stepheson (4pts, 6reb, 1blk, 1stl) didn't do Paul Rudd > Ashley Judd any favors. Southern Cal's struggles continue, failing to score 50 points in each of their last three games (all losses).
But even more surprising was the disappearing act from Boilers' Tasmin Mitchell (6pts, 7reb), fouling out in only 21 minutes of playing time. For one of the league's best producers, it was just horrible timing to post your season-low in scoring.
Here is Week 16's current scoreboard, and the playoff bracket.
