Fantasy College Hoops: Thursday - Week 15

Last night was a likely preview of the Big East Championship, as Jim Boeheim and #5 Syracuse (+2) held off a furious comeback by #10 Georgetown for a 75-71 win at the Verizon Center. Wes Johnson (16pts, 8reb, 3ast, 5blk, 2stl) broke out of his mini-slump, but was held to just two points in the second half. Last week's POW Greg Monroe (20pts, 9reb, 1ast, 1blk) battled early foul trouble and struggled against the nation's best 2-3 zone. In his two games against 'Cuse this year, Monroe has combined for 9 fouls and committed 11 turnovers. Crimson & Bluebloods, the league's #1 seed, will need a productive weekend to avoid a shocking upset.

The league's #2 seed, Gordon Bombay, is in a dogfight of his own thanks to WGP's solid production from unlikely sources. Though Marquette's Lazar Hayward (11pts, 6reb, 1ast, 3stl) shot a frigid 4-for-17 from the field against Pittsburgh, Nikola Vucevic (13pts, 10reb, 2ast) kept the underdog alive by producing Thursday's lone double-double.

After disappointing performances by Ashton Gibbs (2pts, 3reb, 1ast, 1stl) and Klay Thompson (8pts, 5reb, 2stl), God's on my side and Chalmers Chiefers both appear to be fading. They're still breathing, but they can't afford any of their remaining players to slip up... or they're toast.

Here's a look at the current scoreboard:
