Sunday: Gordon Bombay only needed two players to outscore God's on my side's entire team this week, and they both played on Sunday.
JaJuan Johnson (26pts, 7reb, 2ast, 1blk, 2stl) and
Isaiah Thomas (27pts, 4reb, 13ast, 2stl) helped Gordon Bombay lead the league in scoring for Week 10. The
Game of the Week was already well in hand, but Minnesota's
Trevor Mbakwe (16pts, 12reb, 1ast, 3blk, 2stl) helped Boilers pile on the points against The Iron Men. The Hammer got just enough out of
Marshon Brooks (28pts, 3reb, 3ast, 2blk, 3stl), capping a last-second comeback and 1-point victory over Sutton & Sons.
Here's a look at the final
scoreboard for Week 10.
Here are the storylines from Week 10:
Crimson & Bluebloods (10-0), Gordon Bombay (7-3) and The Hammer (7-3) have been the top three scoring teams over the past two weeks. After another win this week, Boilers is a respectable 7-3. But everyone else is under .500. Still, only two games separate 5th place Neenan's Warriors (4-6) from 12th place Nosotros Creemos (2-8). So the playoffs are still a realistic possibility for everyone... more on that later.
Free agency: The commissioner was wheeling and dealing this past week. Here's a quick summary:
- Crimson & Bluebloods traded John Henson, F, North Carolina and Kris Joseph, F, Syracuse to The Iron Men for Talor Battle, G, Penn State
- Crimson & Bluebloods added Tobias Harris, F, Tennessee
- The Iron Men dropped Mike Scott, F, Virginia
- Crimson & Bluebloods dropped Tom Izzo, HC, Michigan State and added Lorenzo Romar, HC, Washington
Injury/Roster Report: Neenan's Warriors scoring will get a much-needed shot in the arm (no pun intended) as Seton Hall's Jeremy Hazell returned to action last week after breaking his wrist and subsequent mugging/gunshot incident on Christmas. The Iron Men's newly acquired Kris Joseph
suffered a concussion against Cincinnati, after the back of his head slammed into the hardwood after crashing to the floor. He will not travel for #4 Syracuse's Big Monday matchup against #5 Pittsburgh, and will continue to be evaluated on a daily basis.
Here's a look at the
Top 50 in scoring through Week 10.
