Fantasy College Hoops: Saturday - Week 12
The Iron Men continued their march to a Game of the Week victory over Gordon Bombay on Saturday. Cincinnati's Yancy Gates (16pts, 8reb, 1ast) was a complete mismatch for Rutgers' frontcourt. But the Bearcats failed to take advantage, as they jacked up twenty shots from behind the arc. North Carolina State's Lorenzo Brown (8pts, 4reb, 4ast, 2stl) and Seton Hall's Jordan Theodore (18pts, 3reb, 3ast, 2stl) looked rather pedestrian, but did just enough to cushion The Iron Men's lead heading into the final day of Week 12.
Gordon Bombay lucked out as Jim Boeheim and Syracuse (-10) were bailed out by a botched goaltending call in the waning seconds of their 63-61 win over West Virginia
Sutton & Sons Saloon and Pharmacy is giving Boiler Up, Hammer Down their best shot. Texas' J'Covan Brown (32pts, 1reb, 5ast, 1stl) and Ole Miss' Murphy Holloway (14pts, 11reb, 4ast, 3stl) combined for 62.30 fantasy points. The only downside was Holloway's 6-for-13 effort from the charity stripe.
Behind a pair of double-doubles from Baylor's Perry Jones (22pts, 14reb, 3ast) and Arizona's Solomon Hill (28pts, 11reb), Ad astra per aspera took The Hammer behind the woodshed this week. Perhaps a late playoff push is still in the cards for Ad astra per aspera, who has routinely been left out in the cold during the fantasy college hoops postseason.
Nosotros Creemos will likely post over 150 fantasy points this week, but ran into a buzzsaw in the form of Tom Selleck's doppelgänger. Kentucky's Terrence Jones (27pts, 9reb, 1ast, 3blk, 2stl) and Illinois' Meyers Leonard (17pts, 13reb, 2ast, 4blk, 1stl) combined for 44 points on 16-for-29 shooting from the floor to go along with 22 rebounds.
Here's a look at the current scoreboard.
